Your details

Privacy

This explains what happens to the details you give us when you book, and what you can ask us to do with them. Last updated 1 October 2026.

Who we are

ZenDog Grooming and Physiotherapy is run by Beth Walker at 17 Markland Road, Dover, Kent CT17 9LY. We decide what happens to your details and we look after them. You can reach us on 07913 405806 or at zendogphysiotherapy@gmail.com.

What we collect

  • About you: your name, mobile number and email address, and your address and postcode if we come to you.
  • About your dog: their name, breed and weight, and anything you tell us about their behaviour, health or allergies.
  • For physiotherapy: your vet practice and its phone number, what your vet has asked physiotherapy to help with, and when your vet last examined your dog.
  • Your choices: that you accepted our terms, whether photos of your dog may go on social media, whether we may contact your vet, and how you heard about us if you tell us.
  • From appointments: notes on your dog's groom or treatment, for example the blades used, coat condition and how they coped, so the next visit goes well.
  • Payments: your deposit is paid through Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and we never see them. We only get told that the deposit was paid.

Why we use it

  • To book your appointment, take your deposit, send your confirmation and a reminder the day before, and look after your dog safely. We need your details for this, because without them we cannot take the booking.
  • For physiotherapy, your vet has to agree before we can treat your dog. We only contact your vet if you have said we may.
  • Photos of your dog only go on social media if you have said yes. You can change your mind at any time.
  • We keep records of payments because the law requires businesses to keep them.

We never sell your details and we never pass them to anyone else for their marketing.

Who else handles it

A few services run the website and booking system for us. They only use your details to provide that service:

  • Stripe takes the deposit payments.
  • Vercel hosts the website and counts visits.
  • Neon stores the booking system's records.
  • Resend sends your booking emails.

The small team that built the website and booking system and keeps it running can see your details when they need to fix or support it. Some of these companies are based in the United States, and they handle your details under the protections UK data protection law requires.

How long we keep it

For as long as you are a customer, so we know your dog when you come back. Payment records are kept for as long as the law requires for business records. You can ask us to delete your details sooner, apart from what we have to keep by law.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, ask us to stop using it or limit how we use it, and ask for it in a form you can take elsewhere. Where you gave us permission, for photos or for contacting your vet, you can take it back at any time. Ring 07913 405806 or email zendogphysiotherapy@gmail.com and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies and your device

When you book, the website sets one cookie. It remembers which booking is yours, so only your browser can see your confirmation, and it expires after 24 hours. While you are booking, your browser also keeps your progress on your own device, so going back or refreshing the page does not lose it. That copy is cleared when you close the tab.

Visits are counted with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and keeps only anonymous statistics: which pages are viewed, which site you came from, your rough location, the type of device and browser, and whether you tap to call or message us. We use them only to see how the website is used and make it better. It does not identify you and cannot follow you across other websites.

You can turn the counting off for this device here. Your browser remembers the choice, and nothing is counted while it is off.

The fonts on this website are served from the website itself, so loading a page does not contact Google or any other font service.
