ZenDog is my small one-to-one salon in Dover. I set it up because I wanted to groom dogs the way I always thought they should be groomed, slowly, quietly, and one at a time.

In a busy salon a dog can spend hours waiting their turn with other dogs barking and dryers going. Some cope with it perfectly well. Plenty do not, and it shows, in how they behave on the table, and in how they feel about the next visit.
So here it is just your dog and me. I take a holistic approach, which really just means I look at the whole dog rather than the haircut: how they are moving, how their skin and coat are doing, where they are sore, what they can honestly cope with today. Sometimes that means a beautiful full groom. Sometimes it means doing a bit less and building their confidence for next time.
Alongside grooming I offer canine physiotherapy, which fits the same way of thinking, paying attention to how a dog moves and feels, not just how they look.
How I work
At their pace
Breaks whenever they need one. I would far rather stop early than push a dog past what they can manage.
Welfare before finish
If a coat is badly matted, taking it off kindly beats dragging a comb through it for an hour. I will always explain why.
Notes kept every visit
What worked, what they disliked, how the coat behaved, so each groom starts from what I learned last time.

This groomer is amazing. Our Hettie now looks like a 17 months. The groomer listened to how much hair we wanted taken off, or left on. She was very calming towards Hettie. It took around an hour. Boy did she need it. Hettie even got her own little bandana on also. I was quoted over £50 from some groomers. Great groomers. Professional, easy to get on with, knew what she was doing. The bonus was she only charged me £35. Well worth the money. I'm booking Hettie in again next month. I definitely recommend this groomer. Get your pet booked in before she gets booked up.

Honest review for Beth .. I reached out to a small business as I would rather help them . Beth did her assessment. Then we started the action plan on Isabella, my French bulldog, who is currently recovering well from suffering with IVDD . When we got her diagnosed, Pets at home wanted to put her to sleep without a chance... 5 weeks in with physiotherapy and ultra sound therapy . Izzy is starting to stand with her own weight, starting to walk .. Zendog has been there for me on messages, giving me homework to help increase the chance of my girl getting back to her way . Barnabas has been seen by Beth every two weeks for the past year (after an initial for week, once a week intensive course) and it had made such a difference to his quality of life. Barnabas has severe arthritis in his hips and I don't think he'd still be going the way he is without Beth. Being able to have therapy at home means I don't have to stress him in the car and he can relax in the garden immediately afterwards. Beth is patient, kind and professional. Both dogs love her. I'm so glad we found her at the time when we did, she's given Barnabas more active time than we could have hoped for.
